Who Are We?

A Family Dental Practice on the Acworth Side of Cobb County

Cobb County is large. From Acworth in the northwest to Smyrna and Vinings in the southeast, you are looking at a 45-minute drive on a good traffic day. Our office sits in Acworth at 6199 GA-92, which means we are an easy choice if you live in the western or northern part of the county and a longer haul if you are coming from the east. We try to be honest about that. Most of our Cobb County patients come from Acworth, Kennesaw, the KSU area, and the GA-92 corridor.

Dr. Alan N. Parnes, DDS, runs a single-dentist practice. The same dentist sees you at every visit, the team is small and stable, and we keep treatment plans practical and based on what you actually need.

Why Choose Us?

Where Our Cobb County Patients Come From

Acworth and the GA-92 Corridor

This is our home base. The office is on GA-92, and most of our patients live within 10 to 15 minutes. If you are anywhere from downtown Acworth to the western edge of Cobb, you are close.

Kennesaw and the KSU Area

Kennesaw and the area around KSU are about 15 minutes by car. Plenty of our patients come from these communities, including KSU students, faculty, and longtime Kennesaw residents.

Marietta and Eastern Cobb

Marietta is 25 to 30 minutes depending on the route. We do see patients from Marietta and East Cobb, but if you are looking purely for proximity, there are good options closer. The patients who drive from East Cobb usually do so for a specific reason: a referral from a friend, a single-dentist practice, or coverage with their PPO.

What We Do

Family and Preventive Dentistry

Cleanings, exams, X-rays, sealants, and fluoride. The basics, done well, on a regular schedule.

Emergency Dentistry

Same-day appointments for toothaches, broken teeth, lost crowns, and other dental emergencies.

Cosmetic Dentistry

Teeth whitening, bonding, and porcelain veneers. We talk through options before you commit to anything.

Dental Implants and Restorative Care

Single implants, multi-tooth implants, All-on-4 implant-supported dentures, crowns, bridges, and traditional dentures.

Sedation Dentistry

Nitrous oxide for patients who want to relax during treatment. Most patients drive themselves home afterward.

Why Routine Dental Visits Matter

Preventive Care That Actually Prevents

The point of regular cleanings is to keep small problems from becoming big ones. Plaque turns into tartar, tartar irritates gums, irritated gums lead to periodontal disease, and periodontal disease makes everything else harder. Twice-yearly cleanings break that chain.

Catching Problems Early

A small cavity is a quick filling. A large cavity becomes a crown. A really large cavity becomes a root canal or an extraction. Most cavities can be caught and fixed before they reach the painful stage if you come in regularly.

Coaching for Daily Habits

We will tell you what is and is not working in your home routine. Sometimes it is a small change like switching to a different floss or holding the toothbrush differently. Small changes add up over years.

About Cobb County

Cobb County is one of Georgia's largest counties, just northwest of Atlanta, with a population well over 750,000. Marietta is the county seat. The county includes the cities of Acworth, Kennesaw, Smyrna, Powder Springs, Austell, and parts of Mableton, plus a long list of unincorporated communities. Major anchors include Truist Park (home of the Atlanta Braves), the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park, and Six Flags White Water.

It is a county with strong schools, a varied economy, and a wide spread of neighborhoods from older established areas to fast-growing newer subdivisions. For dental care, that diversity means there is no shortage of options. We are one of them, on the Acworth side, and we work hard to be a steady, fair, long-term choice for the families who pick us.

Where Are We?

Getting to Our Office From Across Cobb County

Our office is in north Cobb County right at the Cherokee County line, at 6199 GA-92 in Acworth. From most of the county, the drive uses one of two main routes: I-75 north to exit 277 (GA-92), or US-41 / Cobb Parkway north through Kennesaw and Acworth.

From the city of Kennesaw, allow 9 to 12 minutes. From Marietta, plan on 20 to 25 minutes via I-75 outside of rush hour. From Smyrna or East Cobb, the trip is closer to 30 to 35 minutes off-peak. Patients in West Cobb (Powder Springs, Hiram) typically come up Mars Hill Road or Dallas Highway and pick up GA-92 from the west. Parking is free and on-site, with a ground-floor entrance.

What part of Cobb County is your office in?

Northwestern Cobb, in Acworth, on GA-92. Most easily reached from Acworth, Kennesaw, and the KSU area.

Do you see patients from East Cobb and Marietta?
