Who Are We?

A Family Dentist Worth the Short Drive from Woodstock

Woodstock has a lot of dentists. We know that. If you are searching for one, you have options. Our office is at 6199 GA-92 in Acworth, about a 15 to 20 minute drive from most of Woodstock, and the patients who choose us over a closer option usually do so for one or two specific reasons. Some want a smaller practice where they see the same dentist at every visit. Some are tired of the busier dental corridors and like that the office is calmer. And some came in once for an emergency, liked the experience, and stayed.

Dr. Alan N. Parnes, DDS, runs a single-dentist practice. You see him every time. The team has been together for years, and the goal is the kind of long-term relationship where the dentist actually knows your history when you sit down.

Why Choose Us?

What Makes Our Practice Different

Three things, honestly:

First, it is a single-dentist office. You do not rotate through different providers from one visit to the next. Dr. Parnes does the work, sees you at recall, and remembers what was done last time without needing to re-read the chart.

Second, we explain treatment in plain language and we are upfront about cost. If a procedure is not strictly necessary, we say so. If insurance will cover most of it, we tell you what to expect to pay before we start. If something is going to be expensive, we lay out the options including doing nothing for now.

Third, we are in-network with most major PPO insurance plans, which is more useful than the marketing claim 'we accept your insurance' on its own. In-network means contracted rates and clearer cost expectations.

Dental Services for Woodstock Patients

Most of our work is what a family practice does day-to-day. The categories below cover what most Woodstock patients come to us for.

Family and Preventive Dentistry

Cleanings, exams, X-rays, sealants for kids, fluoride for those who need it, oral cancer screenings, and basic fillings. We see kids from their first tooth and adults at every age. Many families schedule everyone on the same day.

Emergency Dentistry

Toothache, cracked tooth, knocked-out tooth, lost crown, swelling. Call as early as you can if you are in pain. We hold same-day slots for emergencies and the team will help you triage on the phone.

Cosmetic Dentistry

Three main paths. Professional teeth whitening if your teeth are healthy and you just want them brighter. Cosmetic bonding for chips, gaps, or one or two teeth that bother you. Porcelain veneers when you want a fuller smile change and are ready to commit to a slightly bigger investment. We will tell you which path fits your goals and your budget.

Dental Implants and Restorative Work

Single dental implants for a missing tooth, multi-tooth implants for larger gaps, or All-on-4 implant-supported dentures for a full arch. We also place crowns, bridges, and traditional dentures. Each restoration is custom-fitted and color-matched to your existing teeth.

Sedation Dentistry for Anxious Patients

If the dentist makes you anxious, you are not alone. We use nitrous oxide (laughing gas) for patients who want to relax during a procedure. It wears off quickly so you can drive yourself home in most cases.

About Woodstock and Cherokee County

Woodstock is one of the fastest-growing cities in Cherokee County. Downtown Woodstock has gone from a quiet small town to a real destination over the last fifteen years, with The Park at City Center, restaurants, and the Greenprints trail system. The Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta sit just off I-575, and Lake Allatoona is a short drive west. Families come here for the schools, the parks, the access to Atlanta, and a downtown that still feels like a community.

The dental market in Woodstock has grown alongside the city. There are plenty of practices to choose from, which is good for patients but also means it pays to know what kind of practice you actually want before you pick one.

Where Are We?

Getting to Our Office From Woodstock

The drive from Woodstock to our office runs about 12 miles and takes 18 to 20 minutes via GA-92 west, depending on time of day. From downtown Woodstock or the Towne Lake area, you stay on GA-92 the entire way and our office is on the right at 6199 GA-92, Suite 132.

If you are coming from the south side of Woodstock or off I-575, a shorter alternative is to cut across on Bells Ferry Road and pick up GA-92 closer to the office. Either way, parking is free and on-site, and the entrance is at ground level. Avoid the 5 PM rush on GA-92 if you can; mid-morning and mid-afternoon are typically lighter.

Directions from Woodstock to Our Acworth Office

From downtown Woodstock, take Main Street to GA-92 and head west. About 15 to 20 minutes depending on traffic. From the I-575 corridor, take the Glade Road exit and continue on GA-92. Our office at 6199 GA-92, Suite 132 has on-site parking with the entrance on the ground floor.

Insurance, the New Patient Special, and CareCredit

We are in-network with most major PPO dental insurance plans. The fastest way to confirm is to call (770) 657-7120 and read us your card.

If you do not have insurance, the $125 New Patient Exam and X-Rays special is a flat-rate first visit. The $199 option adds a healthy-mouth cleaning. For larger treatments, CareCredit lets you make monthly payments instead of paying everything up front.

What to Expect at Your First Visit

First visits run about an hour. We take a full set of digital X-rays, do an exam, screen for oral cancer, and then sit down with you to talk through what we found and what you want from your dental care. If treatment is needed, we explain it, show you the X-ray of the tooth, and give you a clear cost. Bring your insurance card and a list of any medications. New patient paperwork can be done online in advance to save time at check-in.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the drive from Woodstock?

About 15 to 20 minutes from most of Woodstock, depending on where you start and the time of day.

Why drive to Acworth when there are dentists in Woodstock?

Most of our Woodstock patients chose us for a specific reason: a single-dentist practice, calmer office environment, in-network coverage with their insurance, or a referral from a friend or family member. If you have a closer option that fits what you want, that is fine. We are an option for people who want what we offer.

Do you accept my insurance?

Most major PPO plans are in-network with us. Call with your card and we will tell you exactly what your plan covers.

Do you see emergency patients the same day?

Yes, in most cases. Call as early in the day as possible. If you are in real pain, the team will work you in.

I have dental anxiety. How do you handle that?

We slow down, explain everything, and use nitrous oxide for patients who want extra help relaxing. If you need a longer first conversation before any actual dental work, we will do that. The first visit can just be a tour of the office and a chat if that helps.
